Publications: Education & Pedagogy
Prof. Pompano is an advocate for inclusive and engaging teaching. In her courses, she makes full use of modern teaching strategies, such as active learning, to ensure that students engage deeply with the material to develop higher level learning skills. She also has used alternative assessment strategies such as specifications grading, in which student mastery of content, with chances to learn and revise, is prioritized performance on high-stakes assignments. The articles and chapters below are a product of her participation in the Analytical Sciences Digital Library (ASDL) community, an NSF-funded group that strives to implement student-centered learning in the analytical classroom.
